Gian Paolo Fadini

Gian Paolo Fadini is Full Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Padova and Director of the Division of Metabolic Diseases and Diabetology of the University Hospital of Padova. Dr. Fadini is also the PI of the Laboratory of Experimental Diabetology at the Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine. His research activities are devoted to the basic and clinical study of chronic diabetic complications, stem cells in diabetes, and immune-inflammatory process in diabetes pathophysiology. In the field of clinical diabetes, Dr. Fadini runs studies using routinely accumulated clinical data on long term outcomes and real-world effectiveness of glucose lowering medications, He served as the chair of the research center of the Italian Diabetes Society. Dr. Fadini has published more than 380 articles in peer-review journals, with H-index of 68.
