Elizabeth Cerceo

Elizabeth Cerceo, MD, FACP, FHM is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Climate Health at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine residency, and chair of Physician Engagement and Women in Medicine. She completed her medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a board-certified general internist in the Department of Hospital Medicine where she oversees faculty development and research. As the Director of Climate Health, she is responsible for integrating climate health content throughout the four years of medical school, into residency and faculty development. Dr. Cerceo has co-created 24 courses for the Selectives in the Humanities as Director of the Medical Humanities.

Dr. Cerceo is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. She chairs Health and Public Policy for ACP NJ, is leading a climate task force for Medical Society of NJ, and chairs two committees for the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health. Dr. Cerceo is a Board Member of APHA’s Center for Climate, Health, and Equity. Her regional and national work focuses on climate health in medical education, sustainable healthcare infrastructure locally and nationally, health policy issues at the state and national level, and health equity. She has several grant-funded research protocols and has published and lectured extensively on the subject of climate health.
