Daniel Zickler

Dr. Daniel Zickler is a physician specializing in internal medicine, nephrology, intensive care, and emergency medicine. In 2008 Dr. Zickler joined the Medical Clinic with a focus on Nephrology and Internal Intensive Care Medicine at Charité Virchow-Klinikum in 2008. His dedication and expertise led to his promotion as a senior physician in 2018.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Zickler has been actively involved in emergency medical services. From 2017 to 2022, he served as an emergency physician on the emergency medical vehicle 2105 of the Berlin Fire Department. His commitment to critical care extended to aerial emergency services; between 2022 and 2024, he operated as an emergency physician on the intensive care transport helicopter “Christoph Berlin,” providing advanced medical care during patient transports.

Dr. Zickler’s academic contributions are noteworthy. In 2023, he achieved his habilitation, earning the authorization to teach, reflecting his commitment to medical education and research. His scholarly work is well-recognized, with publications focusing on nephrology and intensive care medicine. Notably, his research on expanded hemodialysis has provided insights into ameliorating uremia-induced impairments, contributing significantly to advancements in nephrological treatments.

In October 2024, Dr. Zickler was appointed as the Chief Physician of the Clinic for Nephrology and Internal Intensive Care Medicine at St. Joseph Krankenhaus Berlin Tempelhof. In this leadership role, he oversees one of Germany’s largest non-university nephrology departments.
