Chris Moriates MD, SFHM, FACP is the Chief of Hospital Medicine at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCLA. He is also the Executive Director for the non-profit Costs of Care, which aims to cultivate change agents who will lead the creation of a more affordable and equitable health system. He directs the STARS (Students and Trainees Advocating for Resource Stewardship) program in the United States, which, so far, has included more than 600 medical students from more than 60 medical schools.
