Dr. Chad T. Whelan, MD, MHSA, SFHM has been a hospitalist for 25 years and currently serves as the President-Elect of the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has previously held faculty positions at several universities including holding achieving the rank of Professor at Loyola University in Chicago, University of Arizona, and currently at Wright State University in Ohio. He has held senior health system leadership positions including President of Loyola University Medical Center, CEO of Banner University Medicine in Tucson and currently is the System Chief Operating Officer of Premier Health and President of Miami Valley Hospital. He is a recognized leader in hospital throughput and care delivery re-design.
