Dr. Aurélien Sokal (M.D., PhD) is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Beaujon Hospital (Pr Lefort, Assistance Publique des hôpitaux de Paris, Clichy, France).
He obtained his medical degree from Université Paris Cité in 2019, followed by a Ph.D. in Immunology in 2022 (Pr Mahévas’s lab, Institut Necker Enfants Malades, Paris, France).
His research focuses on memory B cell responses and vaccine-induced immunity in humans. Dr. Sokal contributed to some of the first studies demonstrating the establishment of a memory B cell response after SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. His work also helped to better understand how these memory B cells protected us against emerging variants. In addition to his research, he is actively involved in clinical practice and medical education.
