Qualified to practise as a Medical Doctor mad Surgeon at the “Sapienza”, University of Rome (04/1987 – ex art. 30 – paragraph I and IV-D-Law no. 368 of the 17.8.1999). Enrolled in the Professional Register of Medical Doctors and Surgeons at the Province of Rome (10/09/1987) with number 38757. Specialised in Sports Medicine in 1991 (summa cum laude) at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. Licensed Sports Doctor with the Italian Sports Medicine Federation, since 1991, with number 14170.
Since the First of November 2009 in service as University Associate Professor in the S.S.D. M-EDF/01 at the I Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the “Sapienza”, University of Rome in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology – “V. Erspamer”, and since First of November 2010 and currently afferent to the “Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine”.
Deputy Director of the School of Specialisation in Sports Medicine and Physical Exercise at La Sapienza University since the 2019/2020 academic year (Election 18-09-2019). Former Member of the Ordering Committee in the aggregation of the Schools of Specialisation of the 1st and 2nd Faculties of Medicine and Surgery of La Sapienza, University of Perugia, University of Tor Vergata since the 2008/9 Academic Year.
He served as Health Officer of the Italian Paralympic Committee from 1997 (with the then Italian Disabled Sports Federation) to 2014. He has participated in 10 Paralympics (from Nagano ’98 to Rio 2016).
Since 2017, he has been a member of the Ministry of Health’s Working Table, renewed in 2019 and established by Ministerial Decree, for the promotion of healthy physical activity and health protection in sporting activities.
